The role
We're looking for a UK-based, experienced Rails developer to join our friendly, well-organised and product-led dev team here at B4B Payments, a globally recognised and trusted provider of card issuing and embedded payment services.
You'll be working closely with a product lead to deliver accurate, reliable and performant solutions as part of our global payments platform.
Your responsibilities:
- bring your enthusiasm and energy to work with you and help us build great tech in a fun and fulfilling environment
- implement new features as part of a product-specific team led by a product owner
- ownership of the end-to-end software development lifecycle from technical specification through to testing and warranty
- provide feedback and mentoring of your peers through the Git PR process
- share your knowledge and past experiences in regular retrospectives and help us to continually improve our ways of working
Your experience:
- senior / principal level Rails developer experience with live Rails projects
- sound knowledge of the Rails tech stack, with a particular focus on the back end
- experience in working in a product-led environment
- a commitment to quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- solid engineering skills to handle large data sets in a transactional financial services environment
Even better:
- experience of working in fintech, the payments industry, in banking, or with payment cards generally
- experience of working in a regulated and/or PCI-compliant company with high availability and high security requirements

The offer from us:
- £70-95K salary depending on experience
- fully remote work (although you must be UK-based) - with the option of working in either our London office or Newcastle office if you prefer
