The Company
We are recruiting a Ruby on Rails Developer on behalf of Nowbase!
Nowbase is an app and web-based social platform where you can diversify your online presence by creating unique feeds for your various interests and communities, which allows your audiences to only follow the content they care about. Feeds on Nowbase can be as public or exclusive as you want - from 100% open to the web, to only accessible to paying subscribers.
Any of your feeds on Nowbase can also be collaborative, meaning you can invite co-hosts to post together. That way, you can all post through your independent profiles to a shared feed on a shared topic, which gives you more discoverability and lets you grow your independent brands together!
The Role
Nowbase is looking for a developer with significant Ruby on Rails experience, to join their 100% remote development team. You'll work within a small, talented team that is building the Nowbase platform, and alongside senior leadership and designers, build a product that will delight users. They use Ruby on Rails, and Typescript/Svelte on the front end. Previous experience in Svelte is not necessary, they’ll teach you everything you need to know!
Nowbase is a fully remote company. This is a remote position available to anyone throughout the USA (UTC-3 through UTC-8).
Salary
The base salary for this position will range between $115,000-$135,000, depending on experience.
We are looking for a talented developer, able to build high-quality, test-driven applications with Ruby on Rails. Well-qualified candidates will have an excellent knowledge of refactoring, application architecture, performance tuning, debugging, and design patterns. We don't expect every candidate to have experience with all of these aspects of Rails development so you’ll be taught anything you don’t have exposure to.
- Excellent experience in web development using Ruby on Rails.
- Experience using Typescript for front end development.
- Past experience in Svelte, while desirable, is not essential. If you’ve used React, Vue, Next, or a similar JS framework, we can teach you.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies
- Understanding of development best practices
- Good experience with TDD
