We seek a strong, enthusiastic Senior or Staff DevOps / Platform Engineer to help build, advance, and maintain our platform. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring smooth operations and rapid deployment of our products and services. You will continuously improve and optimize our platform's reliability, security, efficiency, and performance.
Responsibilities
 
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance our Kubernetes- and AWS-based platform.
 
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers, operations, and other professionals to optimize systems and processes.
 
  • Commit to the continuous improvement of platform reliability, security, and performance.
 
  • Drive swift deployment of our products and services.
 
  • Take a passion for the developer experience, ensuring our tooling serves the entire team while fulfilling availability and security requirements 

  • Proactively seek out failure cases and build robustness
 

Requirements
 
  • Proven experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer with a strong understanding of cloud computing, infrastructure management, Linux, networking, and related tech.
 
  • Expert command of Kubernetes, Helm, containers, and container-based workload orchestration.
 
  • Strong ability to use Terraform and supporting infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Atmos) to describe and provision infrastructure.
 
  • Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, EKS, ECR, IAM, RDS, S3, VPC, and their many friends. Solid scripting and automation using languages like Bash and Python.
 
  • Strong understanding of software delivery processes, CI/CD pipelines, and tools (e.g., Git, GitHub Actions, and CircleCI).
 
  • Facility with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, and OpsGenie.
 
  • Solid understanding of web application development, construction, deployment, and operation, including front-end, caching, load-balancing, application serving, and backend relational and document databases (MySQL and MongoDB).
 

Bonus Skills/Qualifications:
 
  • Experience with the Ruby on Rails application stack.
 
  • Experience with the Cloud Posse approach to infrastructure and infrastructure automation.
 
  • CKA or AWS Solution Architect Pro certification.
 
  • Sound knowledge of security best practices, processes, and tools for cloud environments and web applications.
 
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
 
  • Superb teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in cross-functional teams.
