Job Description   

We are seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Backend Developer who is experienced, highly skilled, and passionate about building robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for driving the development of our backend systems, maintaining and enhancing our existing codebase, and ensuring the performance and reliability of our application. 
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient Ruby on Rails applications. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to create exceptional user experiences. 
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. 
  • Optimize application performance, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Implement best practices in software development.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.     
A typical week? 
  • Writing good quality code : 70%.
  • Code review & technical feedback : 20%.
  • Team meetings & rituals : 10%.
What does your future team look like?  
it's a dynamic group consisting of six developers, including four Ruby on Rails backend developers and two Ember.js frontend developers. You'll collaborate with a Product Manager who has a strong technical background, a talented Product Designer, and a tech-savvy manager to create innovative solutions.   
What are the newest challenges awaiting your team? 
  • Rewrite generic and supporting services to use company common services.
  • Update permissions granularity with new roles.
  • Extend application capabilities to support SCORM.

Qualifications 

  • Ruby on Rails; 
  • PostgreSQL (or any other SQL database);
  • Rspec (or any other testing library).
