Daybreak Health envisions a world where every young person can access essential mental health support. We're dedicated to providing evidence-based virtual therapy with licensed clinicians to kids aged 6-19. Our mission is rooted in partnering with public school districts and health insurance companies to offer free, accessible mental health care to all families, recognizing the significance of mental health as a fundamental aspect of education.
As a Y Combinator-backed company, we've made significant strides in the past two years, securing funding from Maven Ventures for our Seed round, Lightspeed Ventures for our Series A, and most recently, Union Square Ventures for our Series B. - An experienced growth-stage engineering leader with a track record of leading an engineering function or team in a high-paced Growth Stage startup (Series B-D).
- Excited by the challenges faced by a company transitioning from 0 to 1 and aiming to reach 1 to 100.
- Skilled in team development, including leading, mentoring, and fostering the growth of engineering teams.
- A talent magnet with a network of outstanding engineers.
- Demonstrated success in launching products on time and with high quality in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A product-focused engineering leader who confidently partners with product teams to deliver solutions that drive business value.
- Experience in a B2B(2C) business is required, and experience in a regulated business (e.g., financial, healthcare, etc.) is highly valued.
- Collaborate with our Head of Product to ensure we focus on the right projects at the right time.
- Ensure the engineering team consistently delivers customer value rapidly and with exceptional quality.
- Manage technical debt to optimize speed and quality of business value delivery.
- Maintain a 99.9% uptime SLA.
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of engineers across a portfolio of Daybreak products.
- Support our existing engineering team in achieving new heights, implementing career leveling frameworks and growth plans.
- Recruit top-tier engineering talent as Daybreak's engineering team expands, doubling in size annually.
- Set and uphold standards for technical excellence.
- Establish supporting teams, including DevOps and QA, to enhance the efficiency of our Engineering team.
- Build strong relationships with all members of our executive team, fostering cross-functional bonds and collaboration.
- Ensure that the engineering team meets the needs of all our cross-functional counterparts.
- Develop and implement a technical strategy aligned with evolving business and product needs.
- Evolve the operation of the engineering group over time, focusing on metrics-based management, continuous improvement, feedback loops, and standardized ways of working.
- Enhance our Engineering KPI systems, identifying and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure engineering success, performance, and alignment with business goals and strategy.
- Collaborate with our Head of Product to co-own our Software Development Lifecycle and make continuous improvements.
- Create and improve engineering tools, processes, and systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineers.
