Senior Ruby Developer

We are currently looking for a Senior Ruby Developer to join our client, Marketplace Technologies security team.

The purpose of the team is to take care of technical security and privacy implementations spanning the marketplace. You will be researching, discovering, implementing and maintaining critical security projects.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the latest versions of Ruby (Rails), MySQL, Docker, and other tools.
• In addition to the team tasks, together with staff engineers, define, drive and lead technical backend solutions going beyond the team’s scope.
• Work to extrapolate services from a monolithic codebase.
• Have close collaboration with other engineers from within and without the team, product team.
• Work in an Agile environment.
• See your code affecting users on a very large scale.
• Be part of a friendly multinational team based in Amsterdam.

Requirements:

• You have a strong understanding of Backend development and Ruby best practices.
• You are always keen to set the bar high and push the team to maintain it.
• You can balance product and tech initiatives to be able to present value for the business and to push the codebase to always better standards.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• You are comfortable participating in cross-team projects alongside other backend engineers.
