We are seeking a Software Engineering Lead to manage a small, talented team of software engineers and build the next generation of eCommerce performance and security using JavaScript, React, Java, Ruby, and Node.js.
Your Role- Own execution. Set and communicate the team’s priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making. Organize agile ceremonies and ensure the visibility of work in progress.
- Lead a team. Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to provide feedback and coaching.
- Build great software. This is a hands-on role where you get to help build and deliver the solutions you lead. Design, guide and vet designs. Write product or system code to solve ambiguous problems. Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
- Manage complexity. Translate and organize large product initiatives into deliverable pieces that span multiple sprints.
- Drive innovation. Develop the mid-term technical vision within the scope of your team. Create and evolve the technical roadmap to meet anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Full-stack, commercial software development in Java, Ruby, JavaScript, NodeJS, or python.
- Deep software development skills across all phases, including design, estimation, coding, debugging, and support.
- Demonstrated project leader who can break down large product initiatives into deliverable pieces, set a timeline, and track progress against goals.
- Full-stack experience across all tiers, client, backend, storage, etc.
- Ability to work cross functionally across technologists, product owners, and business leaders.
- Showcases exceptional people leadership skills and a track record of team success.
- Ecommerce platforms and technologies including composable tech stacks.
- Development experience with React, Rails, Angular, or similar.
- Knowledge of browser HTML page content and lifecycle, and related concepts, including JavaScript, CSS, CORS, the DOM model, and SPAs.
