We are an early-stage start-up, based in London, with a solid product-market fit, impressive growth rates, and a user base spread across the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia. Founded in 2018, Koinly is used by thousands of cryptocurrency investors, accountants and blockchain businesses and is also the preferred tax partner for a number of leading cryptocurrency exchanges. We are building tools to enable the widespread adoption of cryptocurrency by automating the regulatory hurdles of tax compliance and asset tracking.
What you’ll be doing
As a Senior Ruby Developer, you will have a big impact in the development of Koinly. You’ll be responsible for writing clean modern code that follows best practices. We are looking for someone that is experienced in Ruby on Rails and knows other programming languages and frameworks too. Someone who is not afraid to learn new things but can hit the ground running with our core application.
You’d be working at a team that has not only the goal of creating value but also the explicit goal of being a place where developers love working at. Where we care about technical debt, adopting new technologies, but we are still pragmatic about using the right tool for the job. You will have freedom and autonomy to do your work. At Koinly there will be non-managerial growth opportunities for developers interested in technical leadership.
This role will have on-call responsibilities.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have the following experience.
- 5+ years of experience
- Experience with Ruby and Rails
- Experience with SQL databases and knowledge of NoSQL ones
- Proficiency in at least 3 programming languages
- Computer science knowledge, gained through a degree or self-taught
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience with Git and Github.
