POSITION OVERVIEW:
Indiegogo is in search of a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our Product, Design, and Engineering teams. As the CTO, you will drive our product and technology strategy, balancing commercial, strategic, and operational needs to enhance the crowdfunding experience for millions of users. This role will report to the CEO and be a part of the Executive Leadership Team. 
YOU WILL:
  • Own the Product & Technology roadmap aligned to Indiegogo’s long-term strategy, translating the vision into short and long-term goals and deliverables. 
  • Drive product-led growth and build features and initiatives that have measurable commercial impact
  • Optimize operations and Software Development Lifecycle processes for an efficient and effective engineering team, both onshore and offshore 
  • Maintain a philosophy and strategy around tech debt, platform stability, cybersecurity, data privacy compliance, and other infrastructure-related areas 
  • Lead the BI and Data platform team to enable easy and self-serve access to ensure data-driven decisions by stakeholders across the company 
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing, cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, and designers 
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and highly outcome-oriented culture of action and accountability 
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Trust/Safety to ensure alignment and successful execution of company initiatives  
  • Effectively communicate technology strategies and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
YOU HAVE:
  • At least 15 years of experience in the technology industry
  • Proven track record in senior leadership roles with responsibility for both Engineering and Product Management teams in a growth-stage environment
  • Experience defining and executing product-led growth initiatives, with real revenue impact under your leadership 
  • Experience leading nearshore, offshore, or globally distributed Engineering teams 
  • Experience managing dev-ops, cybersecurity, data privacy compliance, and other infrastructure / non-commercial technical functions 
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and lead high-performing, high-impact teams 
  • Strong technical proficiency in open-source technologies and common cloud platforms with a preference for Ruby on Rails, GCP & AWS
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities; Acts as an owner and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Although we are remote-first, we will from time to time get together in person, primarily for strategic sessions, creative brainstorming, and team-building activities. It is expected that you are available to travel within the United States for in-person events up to 1 week per quarter, business requirements will vary based on role and responsibility. Annual full company offsite typically occurs a week in April.

We are currently accepting applications from all parts of the US. However, international applicants are not currently accepted for the HQ team. Please note that all qualified candidates should have US sponsorship or residency to work in the US.

Compensation: 
For this role, our target annual base salary range is $260k - $300k. This role is also eligible for a leadership bonus based on performance. Final compensation is to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
