On a daily basis, they develop a product that automatises all activities connected with creating, maintaining and increasing community members' engagement. Tech-stack: Ruby 2.6, Rails 5.2/6, Golang, JavaScript/ES6, React.js 16.9, Backbone.js, PostgreSQL, Microservices, Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker.
- As a Staff Engineer, you will spend a lot of your time writing code, but also bring your experience to leading a technical project alongside a Product Manager. Your goal is to build scaling solutions by making tech decisions and to mentor technically your team.
- Attached to a squad, you will also work on transversal topics (SSO, SEO, Sign up, etc...)
- Ensure code quality within your projects.
- Managing technical debt (rework, refactoring) and understand the difference between short-sighted business decisions and impact technical health in the long run.
- Practice disciplined software engineering (e.g. automated testing, code reviews, and writing efficiency code).
- Develop integrations with 3rd party software programs (Webhooks, API, deep integrations).
- Design, develop, test and implement new product features.
- Deeply think through the product and its technical feasibility and implications.
- Proactively flag and de-risk any technical issues that might greatly affect the productβs launch or maintainability.
- 8+ years of programming experience in Ruby or with another language like Python or Java. π
- One experience in a leadership position.
- Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism.
- Deep knowledge in architectures patterns.
- Comfortable with DevOps aspects and tooling (K8s, Docker).
- Experience working on backend systems at a large-scale internet service.
- Track record of designing and implementing complex and scalable software services.
- Experience in document oriented databases like Elasticsearch.
- Experience with another language like Golang.
- Open-source contributions.
