Rescale is a food-tech startup solving the supply chain inefficiencies between food & bev brands and their partner manufacturers.

Rescale is a food-tech startup tackling the technologically antiquated world of food & beverage manufacturing. We are building a mix of a marketplace + turbo-tax style functionality to bring automation and scalability to the industry. With great traction and paying customers, we just closed a $2M seed round. This role will be our first engineer hire and will report directly to and work closely with our CTO.

As part of an early-stage company, you’ll have real and tangible impact on the business and our users. Along with our CTO, you will write code and ship product to a growing number of paying customers. We prioritize a developer-friendly environment by being fully remote (within US), having low infrastructure/configuration overhead, autonomy in your work, and getting rid of webpack. Our product strategy is user-focused; we strive to always provide clarity around “what did we learn” + “how that changes our thinking”. Company Background:
Today, when a new food brand starts to take off (think “startup” but for something like a hot sauce), they spend 12-18 months establishing a partnership with a manufacturer to produce their product at scale. The pain point is so high, the brand typically pay consultants $60k to find, onboard, and help manage these relationships. Our cofounder (former Dir of Ops @ Trader Joes) felt this pain as a consultant and validated the need with over 100+ brands before launching in 2023.

Your Growth
You'll have the opportunity to see and be a part of building industry-changing products. As you show success in this role, you will have the option of either specializing in a particular part of the application or helping us to grow and manage the engineering team. 

Requirements

  • Fire in the belly drive to figure things out by constantly exploring more. You ask questions with genuine curiosity to surface new solutions and possible paths forward.
  • No ego - no task is below your pay grade. We are all in this together, and we learn through listening - to our customers and each other.
  • An understanding of the pros and cons of working at a startup. There will be ambiguity and moving targets, but also the opportunity to have ownership and autonomy.
