Meraki’s product Dashboard teams are small, fast-moving teams striving to make our products unique by balancing their feature-rich abilities and their simplicity. You’ll be developing the tools by which our customers configure and monitor network devices worldwide. Our full-stack engineers are well-versed in a wide array of CS concepts and are excited to jump around languages, platforms, and all levels of the Meraki stack!
We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with a strong focus on Ruby-on-Rails for the Tools and platform team. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the success of our team’s mission, not to mention our customers’ lives.
About the Team:
The Cloud Tools and platform team is responsible for all the testing infrastructure of the cloud projects in Meraki. This includes the development of tests for innovative new features, spanning from mobile to performance, as well as developing the testing framework to support new use cases and workflows.

Example projects of an engineer at Tools & Frameworks team:
  • Responsible for crafting and building some of the high-impact technology projects.
  • Assist in the development of our testing framework
  • Participate in requirements/design discussions with Product managers & development team and represent the platform team.
  • Foster a culture of quality, teamwork, and inclusiveness.
  • Share your knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and evangelizing engineering standard methodologies.
  • Be involved in resolving some of the complex scale-related problems
  • Integrate end-to-end tests into the build pipelines and develop metrics such as test pass rates/importance etc.
You are an ideal candidate if you have:
  • Have an overall of 7+ years of experience in building system applications, starting from gathering requirements to implementing the design, backend services, and deploying the application on the production.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in Ruby on Rails
  • Can implement good database design in a relational database (we use Postgres).
  • Ability to read code and tackle technical issues; Lead high-priority failure investigation and implement the fixes.
  • Experience with building, supporting, maintaining, and scaling automation in a CI/CD environment.
  • Prior experience in creating and using test automation frameworks for functional, UI, API, and performance testing.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with containerization technologies docker, Swarm, or Kubernetes.

Compensation Range: 
$116,400—$222,200 USD

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%.  Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
