Job Description

Square Banking is dedicated to empowering sellers by providing them with the tools and resources they need to manage their funds effectively. Our mission is to help sellers understand where their money is going, help organize their finances and budget wisely, thereby increasing their chances of long-term financial success.
As a member of the Bank Accounts team at Square Banking, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our checking and savings account products. These accounts are designed to ensure sellers have their funds readily available when they need them most. You will be instrumental in helping sellers organize their funds, encourage smart usage, and consolidate their money in one place. You will be joining a dynamic team that values collaboration, empathy, and a positive work culture, making your contributions both impactful and rewarding.
  

Qualifications

You have:
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of industry experience
  • Experience with Java, Kotlin, and/or Ruby
  • Experience leading large-scale feature releases
  • Experience serving as a technical lead, mentoring more junior engineers, both technically and in their careers
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and architecture and hands-on experience building large scale systems
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software with a focus on technical excellence
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience with modern development methodologies and tools (Agile, CI/CD, Git, etc.)

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
 
 Zone A: USD $163,600 - USD $245,400
 Zone B: USD $155,400 - USD $233,200
 Zone C: USD $147,300 - USD $220,900
 Zone D: USD $139,000 - USD $208,600
