About the Role

We're seeking an outstanding Software Quality Engineer Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll bring your vision and technical expertise to drive the growth of our quality engineering team and enhance the reliability and performance of our platform. You'll help define our quality assurance strategy, ensure its seamless execution, and guide the creation of innovative, high-performance, and scalable solutions.

Tech Stack

  • Current Platform: Angular FE and Ruby on Rails backend on AWS infrastructure
  • New Platform: React/Material UI/Storybook/NestJS, AWS (EKS) and GCP (ML Services), PostgreSQL, Python (Machine Learning / AI projects)
  • QA Tools: Mabl, Testmo, DataDog

 

What You’ll Do:

Technical Contributor:

  • Actively involved in developing new Mabl automation tests for both the current and new platform.
  • Train team members in the Mabl automation framework and write effective automated tests.

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead the quality assurance efforts for the current platform and next generation of our platform, ensuring a balance of high-quality user experience and performance.
  • Act as a key problem-solver for complex quality challenges, leveraging a deep understanding of modern software testing principles and tools to guide the team toward effective solutions.
  • Collaborate deeply with architects to design and implement comprehensive testing strategies for the next generation of our platform.

Collaboration and Solutions Architect:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, playing a key role in designing and implementing scalable quality solutions.
  • Champion security measures, proactively identifying and resolving potential vulnerabilities to protect user data.
  • Ensure seamless integration of quality assurance processes within the overall development lifecycle.

Management, Mentorship and Innovation:

  • Directly manage two quality engineers, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through code reviews, test automation, and staying updated with industry best practices.

Product Collaboration:

  • Work closely with product managers and designers to translate diverse user needs into robust and efficient quality solutions.

Experience and Decision-making:

  • Utilize over 8 years of professional software quality engineering experience to make critical decisions and guide the team towards success.
  • Contribute a seasoned perspective to projects, leveraging extensive expertise.

 

The Experience You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 8-10+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering, specializing in cloud-based solutions and modern testing frameworks.
  • Platform Development: Demonstrated hands-on experience in architecting and implementing quality assurance strategies for platforms from inception to go-live (0-1).
  • Cloud & Security Proficiency: Deep understanding of AWS and cloud security best practices to ensure platform robustness and compliance.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Strong leadership and communication skills, with a passion for mentoring and collaborating with a diverse team.
  • Proven Delivery: Demonstrated experience in delivering high-quality software solutions, adhering to high standards of performance and maintainability.
  • Problem-solving Prowess: Tenacious problem-solver thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, contributing unique experiences and perspectives to shape innovative solutions.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $100,000 to $131,000

The base salary offered is determined by several factors, including but not limited to the applicant's qualifications, relevant experience, specific skills, level of education, certifications or professional licenses, and geographic location where the job will be performed. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include any bonus, equity, or benefits.

Total compensation package also includes performance bonus and stock options. Final compensation will vary based on experience and various other factors.
