The Problems You’ll Solve

At Carta, our employees set out on a mission to unlock the power of equity ownership for more people in more places. We believe that the problems we solve today unlock the opportunities of tomorrow. As a Software Engineer, you’ll work to: 
  • In this role, you'll be working on the Capdesk from Carta platform. You’ll contribute to build new features, improve existing code and will be collaborating with a team of highly driven and motivated individuals on a daily basis.  
  • You’ll be directly contributing to our efforts on winning both UK and EU mid-market customers.
  • The role is intended to be Full Stack, with a small inclination for the backend side of things. You’ll be working mostly on the backend, with occasional dips on the frontend when needed (or based on interest!)
  • You’ll also be collaborating with product designers and product managers on a daily basis.

About You

We're looking for engineers with experience delivering value. You've contributed to important features put into production and want to keep shipping more. You strive for autonomy and desire to have a big, measurable impact on customers. You enjoy being surrounded with passionate engineers who are delivering quality everyday.
  • We want engineers to be autonomous, able to wrap their head around complex problems and curious to dig into the world of fintech.
  • We want individuals that like to ship iteratively and consistently improve the code, leaving it better than it was when you first read it - as well as having a strong sense of ownership and taking pride in the quality of the final product. 
  • We expect engineers to be able to break down a complex problem into a solution that provides a rich user experience and implement solutions in a scalable future-proof way.
  • Note: this is a fully remote role. We are currently able to accept applications from the following countries: UK, Denmark, Canada and Brazil.
Our Tech Stack: 
  • Our back-end runs on Ruby on Rails, using PostgreSQL and Redis.
  • Our frontend infrastructure is composed of three micro-frontend applications. Most of the code is written in React/TypeScript - as we’re almost done with phasing out our legacy AngularJS stack.
  • Our designers create wireframes and prototypes in Figma.

  • Our infrastructure runs on Heroku.
  • We use a few amazing, best of the market tools: Datadog, Github, Sentry, LaunchDarkly.
