We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure team! This person will focus on elegantly solving complex problems and driving the architecture and implementation of our cloud platforms. In this role, you will develop solutions that empower SpotOn engineers and our customers with robust platform-level systems, lead projects from initial architecture to final implementation, and help in our transformation of operating at massive scale. As a critical contributor to our next-generation 'cells' architecture, you'll work on creating tools and products that act as team multipliers, enhancing overall engineering efficiency and supporting massive scalability. This position requires a hands-on approach, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while directly impacting the direction of our cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Development and Automation
- Technical leadership and guidance in design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and increase resilience and reliability.
- Contribute to developing infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and the evolution of our overall cloud architecture.
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies in our cloud infrastructure.
- Build and automate our next-generation cells architecture, a horizontal scaling platform that allows us to support growing customers all over the world.
- Automate rebalancing of our customers across our cells to spread the load (without downtime!).
- Implement best practices for optimizing resource utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other engineers, providing mentorship and knowledge transfer to enhance the team's overall technical capabilities.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a results-oriented environment.
Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms. e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP (AWS preferred)
- 3+ years of experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools
- Strong experience in the design and implementation of cloud architectures.
- Fluency in a programming language like Python, Go, Ruby, or similar.
- Experience developing cloud networking infrastructure, including DNS, CDNs, load balancers, VPCs, subnets, and security groups.
- Experience managing observability platforms, building monitoring dashboards, and configuring high quality, actionable alerting.
Nice to haves:
- Knowledge of one or more relational and non-relational databases.
- Restaurant experience (server, host, cook…it helps to know the folks our software supports!).
Compensation:
- Our base pay range is $138,000 -$190,000 for this role
- Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
