Bend Health, Inc. is a national healthcare company that increases access and reduces the cost of expert mental health care for kids, teens, and families. Our founding team has been in both technology and healthcare for nearly twenty years, as individual contributors, and executives, in both private practices and at companies including Oracle, Optum, UnitedHealth Group and Teladoc Health.
We are revolutionizing the treatment of mental health conditions for kids and teens through a novel data-driven technology platform and evidence-based collaborative care model that enables the first scalable and integrated care solution in mental health. Through coaching, therapy and reduced time to evaluation and treatment by licensed pediatric psychiatry experts, our approach achieves better outcomes and results in happier, healthier, kids/teens, while ensuring stigma, cost, and logistics are no longer barriers to care.
Together, we’re bending the healthcare system to work better for everyone.

Engineering: Senior Fullstack Developer

Bend Health, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Fullstack Developer (React, Typescript, Ruby on Rails). This is a full-time, 100% remote position.

You should consider working at Bend Health if you believe in using your software development powers to do something meaningful and important for society. Our mission is to help kids struggling with mental health issues. You won’t find a more worthy adventure.

We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Developer. We work with React & Typescript on the front end and Ruby on Rails on the backend. While it’d be great if you had experience with these languages, it is not required - you just need to be an experienced and solid Backend developer. Beyond your coding skills, we’re seeking someone that embodies the software values we hold dear:

  1. Mutual respect. Be passionate about your work but always with respect.
  2. Open & honest communication at all levels. Don’t be afraid to say what you think.
  3. Accountability. We all know what is expected of us and we are committed to delivering.
  4. Hard work. Building a startup is hard. Helping kids is hard and our country is in a deficit with evidence-based solutions. But this is worth the effort.

Does that sound like you? Then consider joining us! Bend Health’s tele-mental health service for kids goes beyond taking the existing model of mental health and putting it online. Our goal is to significantly improve mental health effectiveness and access nationwide.

Did you know that a child needing to see a pediatric psychiatrist can often wait 9-12 months?

We believe we can do much better than that with our collaborative care model. We’ve already helped thousands of kids and we’re growing. We are a Series A, venture-backed company and we are just getting started.

  1. 5+ years experience building large scale applications.
  2. Extensive object oriented programming knowledge.
  3. Practice test driven development.
  4. Experience with design patterns and system architecture.
  5. Strong problem solving skills.
  6. Ability to collaborate and work well with others.

  1. Solid understanding of Ruby on Rails.
