Jr. Full Stack Engineer

Published on September 14, 2024

We were named the fastest growing company in New York City and 26th in the US by INC Magazine in 2013.

Our culture is a laid back, family atmosphere where everyone is 100% committed to making our brand a household name. Team members are free to dress in whatever makes them feel comfortable. Shorts and sandals are OK. We're not hung up on dogma, we're focused on results and improving every day. We want to work with individuals who are extremely passionate about honing their craft until they are in the top .01% of their field.

This is an opportunity to be part of a special group of people who have taken an idea and are in the process of bringing it to the forefront.

About the Job
The Lifetime Value Co. is on the lookout for a skilled Jr. Full Stack Engineer, with a solid understanding of vanilla JavaScript as well as backend web development languages like Ruby, to join our dynamic team. This role will expose you to front-end technologies, particularly React and TypeScript, as well as Ruby on Rails APIs, so familiarity with these technologies is a plus but not a requirement! While the primary focus will be on developing and enhancing the front-end aspects of our web products, we have several Ruby on Rails APIs supporting LTV’s product offerings that require regular support and updates.
If you're passionate about the idea of crafting seamless user interfaces, enjoy tackling diverse challenges, and are willing to learn about working with backend technologies when needed, then this is the role for you. You'll get the chance to work closely with cross-functional teams, contribute to key architectural decisions, and leave your mark on a broad spectrum of projects. At The Lifetime Value Co., we all work closely together across teams so there's no red tape or bureaucracy. We get things done!
What You’ll Get to Do
  • Be a part of the team that is responsible for both front-end and back-end development to support product innovation, rapid testing and feature implementation.
  • Translate design concepts into responsive and interactive web interfaces.
  • Engage in code reviews, share knowledge, and contribute to a continuous learning environment.
  • Contribute ideas for the continuous evolution of our stack and identify areas for improvement proactively.
  • Primarily work within our front-end stack but also have the opportunity to dive into one or more of our Ruby on Rails APIs.
What You Bring to the Table
  • This role is part of our Early Career Program, and we will consider the following candidates:
    • Recent graduates from a Bootcamp Program, Technical Degree Program, or Bachelor's Degree Program in Computer Science or a related field
    • Junior Engineers with up to two years of relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of how RESTful APIs work
  • Basic understanding of best practices for code development.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a "leave it better than you found it" mindset.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks, and to share knowledge with the team.
  • Prior experience with ReactJS, Typescript, and/or Ruby/Rails is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Languages

About Us
LTV was founded in New York by Josh Levy and Ross Cohen in 2007. At the time their mission was to provide easy and affordable access to public records. Something that in 2007, was only really accessible to corporations. Since then their mission has expanded to developing products and services that grant access to information and data across a number of verticals. In service of this mission, LTV has 9 consumer brands including BeenVerified, NumberGuru, PeopleLooker, NeighborWho, Ownerly, PeopleSmart, Bumper, ReversePhone, and MoneyBot5000.
Our mission is to develop a diverse portfolio of technologies, products, and services, that gives all people equal access to unbiased data and information. We believe that through this access people can empower and protect themselves in today’s ever-changing world, filled with fake news, deception, and a lack of transparency.
