Updater, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Fullstack Software Engineer with a strong background in user experience (UX) design to join the Customer Pod team within the MoveHQ division of Updater. This senior role combines expertise in frontend development with an understanding of backend processes, using technologies such as React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Ruby to enhance the usability and functionality of our platforms.
About the Role
  • Develop and Enhance User Interfaces: You will play a key role in the design and development of user-centric interfaces for Updater’s products, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience that leverages your strong skills in React and TypeScript.
  • Integrate Frontend with Backend Systems: Utilize GraphQL to facilitate effective data handling and state management between the frontend and backend, ensuring smooth and scalable application functionality.
  • Enhance System Usability and Performance: Work closely with UX designers and backend developers to enhance application usability and performance. Your contributions will directly impact the user satisfaction and overall success of our products.
  • Lead UX Initiatives: As a senior member with a focus on UX, guide the integration of UX best practices within the development process, mentoring junior engineers and advocating for user-centered design principles.
  • Collaborate on Product Development: Participate in product strategy discussions, bringing your technical expertise and UX perspective to the planning and execution of new features.
About You
  • Experienced Fullstack Developer: You have a robust background in web development with at least 5 years of experience, including substantial work with React, TypeScript, and familiarity with GraphQL. Experience with Ruby is also required to manage fullstack integration effectively.
  • UX Design Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to incorporate UX design principles into product development, with a keen eye for creating engaging and effective user interfaces.
  • Proven Track Record: Your portfolio includes successfully launched products that demonstrate your ability to solve complex software engineering problems with user-centric solutions.
  • Testing and Automation Skills: You are proficient with modern testing frameworks and automation tools, ensuring that new features are reliable and maintainable.
  • Agile Methodology Expertise: Well-versed in agile development practices, you are capable of leading within this framework and contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate UX design concepts and technical challenges to a variety of stakeholders, enhancing collaborative development efforts.

This posting is anticipated to remain open until November 27th, 2024. The new hire salary range for this position is $90,000 to $190,000 annually. Factors which may affect the starting pay within this range include skills, experience, and other qualifications aligned with Updater's internal leveling guidelines.
