Lime is hiring a Software Engineer (Backend) to join our City Success Engineering team! The City Success team is directly responsible to help Lime win, retain and expand markets globally which puts the team in a very critical space which can revolutionize the urban commute. We innovate on behalf of the cities and its people, with end to end tech features which help Lime and riders scale globally, making urban commute eco friendly and sustainable, while being safe and fun. The team will directly impact how people commute 5 years from now, making this a critical position in a unique team.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in an evolving startup environment. You will be an in the moment problem solver with the ability to think about the short term and long term plan. You're energized about building and scaling and being part of a forward-thinking organization.
What you'll do:
- Identify, define, and solve strategically essential technical problems, including architecting and building highly scalable foundational platforms, leading new product initiatives, and revamping core application experiences.
- Involve in the cross-functional collaboration with PMs, Engineers, Design, Data Scientists, Research, and Operations teams.
- Design and build scalable solutions to handle the problems facing micro-mobility tomorrow by collaborating with mobile developers.
- Design and build high quality solutions to enable cities to have a good experience with Lime and for Lime and riders to have a safe experience with cities.
- Participate, Ideate, develop and shape the future of micro-mobility as we and our industry ventures into new markets and city regulations.
About you:
- 4+ years of industry professional software development experience, and a track record of building impactful products or systems.
- Owner’s mindset. You're a self-starter and get things across the finish line, focusing on impact.
- Work Cross functionally. Experience leading projects and collaborating with mobile engineers, product managers and data scientists.
- Data driven. You have a strong data insight and rely on data to make decisions.
- Excellent communication and effective prioritization skills in working with competing priorities.
- Passionate. You’re passionate about Lime's mission and micromobility; you want to see cities transform to become
- people-centric and less polluted.
Preferred experience:
- Experience in evolving startups.
- Expert on backend programing and scaling systems, leading projects ground up.
- Experience in Ruby on Rails
The anticipated salary range for this position is CA$126,000 - CA$174,000. Annual performance bonus, equity and benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, depending on the position offered. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s location of residence, the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for a variable performance-bonus based on a combination of company performance, employee performance, and management discretion.
