- Lead a team of Application Security engineers, assigning projects and prioritizing tasks
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and with high quality
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, consulting on security requirements and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
- Drive security initiatives in the development lifecycle and mentor team members on secure coding and architecture
- Develop and deliver security training programs or code review guidelines for engineering pods
- Mentor and guide AppSec engineers, fostering professional growth and development through one-on-ones, coaching and real-time feedback
- Plan team KPIs and monitor progress
- Work with engineering on vulnerability management program, maintaining backlog and driving remediation efforts
What success looks like in this role:
- Great partner relationships across engineering
- Secure design reviews completed within SLA
- Ensure vulnerabilities are remediated within their SLA
- Threat models created and maintained
What we expect from you:
- 8+ years of information security experience in a fast-moving, high growth environment
- 2+ years of engineering team leadership experience
- Have a demonstrated track record of building high-quality security programs and cross-functional collaboration within a highly regulated environment
- 5+ years of hands-on practical experience with some or all of Ruby, Rails, React, Flutter, GraphQL, TypeScript
- Understanding of cloud architecture concepts and best practices
- Bonus points for Terraform experience
- Relevant security certifications (OSCP, CEH, OSWE)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The target base salary range for this position is $159,100 - $194,150, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Database at minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
