We are looking for a talented Ruby on Rails developer to join the team.
In this role, you will work alongside other skilled developers to build, maintain, and enhance our award-winning web applications. Our systems are used globally to help deliver our life-changing cultural exchange programs.

This role is an exciting opportunity, as you will be joining to help stand up a newly formed product team. We're a small team, so your work will carry great weight and will be guaranteed to have a sizeable impact on our business. Our main platform is built using Ruby on Rails. Other highlights of our tech stack include PostgreSQL (database), Sidekiq (background jobs), Stripe (payments), Git (source code management) with hosting on Heroku.
The ideal candidate will:
- Enjoy working with modern Rails front-end technologies, such as Stimulus and Turbo
- Have extensive experience and a strong passion for building and scaling web platforms using Ruby on Rails
- Have experience building user interfaces and a strong understanding of UI/UX best practices
- Have a track record of successfully driving projects to completion while maintaining a focus on scalability
- Value lean development principles and take pride in delivering features quickly without compromising on quality
- Be committed to fostering a culture of psychological safety, inclusivity, and continuous improvement
Benefits
- Salary: £60,000 + up to 10% annual bonus linked to performance (pro-rated based on start date)
- Annual Leave: 23 days (increasing with every year served up to 30 days) + bank holidays
- Pension: 5% employee and 3% employer contributions
