Job Overview:
We’re looking for a hands-on and strategic Head of Engineering to lead the next chapter of technical innovation at Piktochart. This role requires someone with strong Full-stack Ruby on Rails experience who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to contribute to code when needed, while also defining and executing long-term engineering strategy. As part of the interview process, candidates should be prepared to complete a coding challenge to demonstrate technical depth.
What Your Work Will Entail:
  • Technical Leadership: Set and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with Piktochart’s product vision and business goals.

  • Hands-On Contribution: Lead by example and participate in coding efforts, particularly during architectural decisions, critical builds, and complex problem-solving.

  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers while fostering a strong culture of ownership and collaboration.

  • Scalability & Performance: Ensure that our systems are scalable, performant, and built for long-term maintainability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with design, product, and marketing to turn business needs into world-class software.

  • Process Optimization: Continuously improve development workflows using modern DevOps and Agile best practices.

  • Innovation & AI Integration: Drive forward-looking initiatives, including AI and machine learning applications, to keep our platform on the cutting edge.

  • Security & Reliability: Uphold the highest standards of reliability and data security across our stack.
What You Bring To This Role:
  • Experience in a senior engineering role where you led projects or small teams while remaining deeply involved in coding, architecture decisions, and hands-on technical execution in a SaaS or product-led environment.

  • Expertise in Ruby on Rails (required) and Vue (beneficial), with hands-on engineering experience and a deep understanding of scalable system design.

  • Strong knowledge of modern development tools, cloud platforms, and CI/CD practices.

  • A track record of building and leading high-performing remote teams.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative leadership style.
