Job Title: Senior Full Stack Software Engineer

Department: Technology

Reports to: Head of Engineering

Location: 100% Remote

Arcade is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to own and drive forward Arcade’s technology and product. Being part of a small team, you’ll be jumping between writing APIs, DevOps, architecting future systems, developing usable web interfaces, and mentoring teammates. A strong candidate will have extensive experience delivering high-quality SaaS products and has the communication skills and autonomy to thrive in a remote company.

Arcade is built on a modern, developer-friendly, tech stack and is a lean product organization. We’re early days on a promising trajectory, so the right engineer will have a great opportunity to shape our culture in how we build software to delight our customers.

What you’ll do

  • Work on a small, multi-disciplinary product team to build the Arcade product and related services
  • Proactively maintain and drive improvements to our backend systems as well as frontend interfaces. A strong candidate can focus on one end of the stack but should be able to solve problems and make improvements anywhere necessary.
  • Have strong opinions about good engineering processes and operations as well as the leadership to get buy-in and implement them.
  • Architect and design engineering projects
  • Mentor other engineers

You’re a great fit if you…

  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience contributing to the codebase in a high-performing SaaS organization. 3+ years at a senior level.
  • Have been the primary technical contributor, architect, and decision maker for large software projects
  • Are opinionated, but flexible, on how strong engineering teams should operate. You’ll come up with ideas and ways to improve how we run and build software and collaborate with the team to implement them.
  • Have worked across a variety of technologies and platforms across the stack for web applications. You can write APIs, design a schema, jump into server logs, write idiomatic React code, and problem solves no matter where the trace takes you. Some experience with the following is a nice-to-have but less important than technical experience in related technologies: Ruby, Rails, Postgres, Mongo, AWS, Kubernetes, Elixir, Typescript, JavaScript and React.
  • Enjoy wearing many hats - product builder, SRE, Ops, UI perfector, generalist problem solver.
  • Are independent and autonomous - you don’t need someone to tell you what to work on, you push to understand the business and customer context, and combine it with your engineering insights to drive progress.

What’s In It For You?
• Competitive salary.
• Stock options package.
• Live and work remote. Monthly stipend to support your work and productivity.
• 20 days of PTO + 10 company-paid holidays
• Top-tier Medical, Dental, & Vision coverage + Health Savings Accounts
• Retirement 401K program.
• Life, Disability, Accident, Critical Illness insurance options available.
