Copper isn’t just another CRM. We built it from the ground up to help you cultivate enduring relationships with your clients. We wanted a change from unwieldy databases with legions of custom fields, so we reimagined CRM software to enable purposeful collaboration between you and the people who matter most to your business. With Copper, your business will grow the right way: with loyal customers for life.
Explore open job opportunities at Copper CRM.

Copper is the client and project management platform purpose-built for professional services businesses. Think marketing and creative agencies, consultancies, media firms, and other project-based teams that run on relationships, not transactions.
These businesses don’t follow simple, linear sales cycles. Their work is complex, collaborative, and ongoing. They’re constantly moving between pitching new clients, managing active engagements, and delivering on tight timelines. Yet most CRMs ignore this reality - forcing sales and delivery teams into siloed tools that don’t talk to each other.
That’s the gap we’re closing. Copper helps service-based teams manage the entire customer journey in one beautifully designed, Google Workspace-native platform - from first email to final deliverable. With a shared view of contacts, deals, tasks, and projects, our customers eliminate duplicate work, reduce handoff issues, and create consistently excellent client experiences.
Thousands of professional services firms trust Copper to keep their client work on track and we’re just getting started. Backed by $100 million in funding and growing fast, we’re building the modern operating system for relationship-led businesses.
We’re hiring an Engineering Manager to join our team focused on Automations and Integrations.
This is a hands-on execution leadership role. You’ll be responsible for driving reliable delivery, creating clarity and momentum in ambiguous situations, partnering closely with Product and Design to deliver meaningful outcomes, and proactively driving the effective and evolving use of AI to improve workflows and quality.
What You'll Do
Lead a cross-functional engineering team focused on helping new CRM users onboard effectively and experience product value quickly.
Own and drive the bugs process and contractor backlog in partnership with Support and your Product Manager, ensuring issues are triaged effectively and work is prioritized appropriately.
Partner with Engineering leadership to help define and drive engineering strategy across the organization, aligning team-level execution with broader company goals.
Drive predictable, high-quality delivery by clarifying scope, breaking down ambiguity, anticipating risks early, and ensuring consistent, iterative delivery.
Partner closely with Product and Design to align on outcomes, surfacing tradeoffs and pushing back when needed to ensure sustainable, high-quality delivery.
Communicate clearly and concisely across the organization, providing high-signal updates and maintaining alignment across stakeholders.
Work with Technical Leads to evaluate architecture decisions, identify risks, and maintain a high technical bar.
Coach and develop your team through regular feedback, mentorship, and fostering a high-accountability, growth-oriented environment.
Create structure and maintain momentum in ambiguous situations, ensuring the team stays focused and unblocked.
Drive the effective and evolving use of AI in engineering workflows, improving speed, quality, and developer experience.
What You'll Have

  • 4+ years of engineering management experience, with prior experience as an Individual Contributor.

  • Experience working in fast-paced SaaS environments.

  • Strong execution mindset: demonstrated ability to scope work effectively, make tradeoffs, and drive projects to completion reliably.

  • Proven ability to partner with Product and Design, navigating disagreement and aligning on tradeoffs across scope, timeline, and quality.

  • Excellent communication skills: able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Technically credible: comfortable reviewing designs, asking sharp questions, identifying risks, and providing input on architectural decisions.

  • Experience coaching and developing engineers and fostering a high-performing, accountable team environment.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Support, Success, and Marketing.

  • Experience enabling engineers to effectively leverage AI tools in development workflows (e.g., coding, testing, documentation), with an understanding of tradeoffs and risks.
