We're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our Engineering team.
In this role, you will build innovative internal tools that are used to enable efficiency gains for our internal teams by building fit-for-purpose software for our internal teams to better serve our unique customer needs.
The internal tools team was founded on the philosophy that we don’t want HappyCo teams to be limited to the strategies that can be executed with off-the-shelf software and that we’ll invest in innovating and staying ahead of the market.
We’re primarily responsible for Hub. Hub is our internal CRM, ETL, and workflow automation platform that allows us to orchestrate a number of workflows that are unique to the customers we serve.
The internal tools team works very cross-functionally within HappyCo as our colleagues are our customers.
During your first week, you will
- Get to know our leadership, culture, and values
- Onboard with the engineering team and product triad
- Ship your first commit on day 1
- Participate in 1+ pair programming or mob sessions
- Take on 1-2 small tickets to make minor improvements
- Read our favourite industry primers
During your first six weeks, you will
- Ship your first major project that solves an important customer outcome
- Write your first strategy document
- Get acquainted with the different departments
- Shadow a few customer and partner meetings every week
During your first six months, you will
- Actively work within the internal tools product triad to identify customer outcomes and ship products that meaningfully deliver value to customers
- Help grow our team by mentoring new engineers, organizing pair programming and mob sessions, writing development tooling and documentation, and interviewing new hires
What you should have
- Experience building web applications professionally for 4+ years
- Experience working with SQL/Relational databases
- Experience with ETLs and data modelling

- Sidekiq Enterprise for background processing
