The Role:
Forge’s software engineering team is passionate about innovation and building scalable solutions that drive liquidity and growth in the private market. Our teams are leveraging a broad range of new technologies and are well-versed in delivering high quality, innovative solutions. We thrive on moving fast, delivering value, and living our values of being bold, humble, and accountable.
We are seeking passionate engineers with at least 6 years of experience delivering innovative software solutions that are scalable, secure, and easy to maintain. The ideal candidate thrives in team settings, enjoys pair programming, and focuses on delivering value.
We are a full stack shop and our primary web applications are React, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, and C#. Our Platform Engineering team’s mission is to engineer best-in-class developer experiences (DevX) and continuously integrated developer operations (DevOps) that increase developer adoption and maximize developer “flow.” Responsibilities include container build and developer toolchains that work anywhere (localhost, remote, cloud, PaaS), cloud platform capabilities, automated developer onboarding, automated infrastructure, CI + CD (including code quality actions), and secure supply chain.
Responsibilities: 
  • Design, implement, and maintain container build and developer toolchains that power developer coding environments and run responsive full-stack web applications anywhere
  • Build and strengthen developer environment and CI/CD scripts that support a myriad of platforms and technologies
  • Communicate with stakeholders. Work with developers, architects, and tech leads to arrive at solutions that improve the developer experience and platform health
  • Evangelize DevX and DevOps practices and patterns. Enable members of various development teams on internal and external platform capabilities, best practices, and new technologies
  • Develop concise, articulate, and detailed technical documentation
  • Leverage Agile and Lean practices
  • Participate in workstream, refine technical requirements, and execute assigned work items
  • Design, build and maintain automated unit and integration tests
  • Support healthy system operations and ensure high levels of availability are achieved
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent years of working experience in the field
  • 6+ years of software engineering or DevX/DevOps experience
  • Experience with one or more Build/CI/CD toolchain (GitHub, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with statically typed Object-Oriented programming and IDE (C# DotNet, Java Spring, VS Code, etc.)
  • Experience with various scripting languages (shell, bash, etc.)
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, etc.) and/or PaaS platforms (Heroku, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL / Relational Databases
  • Experience developing or supporting multi-tier web applications using modern techniques
  • Proven track-record of teamwork and delivery
  • Fintech or Financial services industry experience with working knowledge of financial regulators and their concerns
  • Experience with multiple programming languages
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) or Pair Programming
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an office setting or in a home office setting while working
  • Experience developing in React or Rails is a plus
  • Experience with one or more Configuration Management and Orchestration Tools such as Puppet, Ansible or Terraform is a plus
  • Experience with log analysis tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Honeycomb or ELK stack is a plus
  • Experience at high-growth, venture-backed startups is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the private market is a plus
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time in an at home/office setting while working
For residents of San Francisco/Bay Area, CA or New York, NY the annual salary range including bonus for this role is $170,000 - $200,000 + equity. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, annual bonus, and other factors.
Forge implements a mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, which applies to all employees.
