What's cool about this job
As part of the Shared Services group, our team is responsible for delivering APIs and tools for other WP Engine engineering teams to consume, specifically in the area of Customer Identity and Access Management. You'll be asked to solve interesting problems using battle-tested standards like OAuth 2.0, Open Policy Agent, and SCIM, delivering incremental value to our internal customers and evolving existing systems to be ever more capable, efficient, and
The day to day
  •  Implement identity management, single sign-on, role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, and associated identity and access management services
  •  Work closely with Product Management, Engineering Management, and an agile development team to deliver impactful software rapidly and iteratively
  •  Help guide other teams on standard methodologies when integrating with identity and access management systems
  •  Provide technical assistance with the on-boarding of new connected systems
  •  Support critical identity issues from our customer experience team
  •  Write, test, and maintain software applications that are resilient, robust, and perform at scale
  •  Administer Okta and maintain design, configuration, and operational process documentation
  •  Extend UI systems in Ruby and TypeScript
  •  Implement standard methodologies for identity governance and administration

Your expertise and passion
  •  You have 2-3+ years working in software engineering (or equivalent) role
  •  You have a DevOps mentality, understanding the teamwork and collaboration required to achieve objectives including Agile and Continuous Delivery methodologies
  •  You have excellent written communication skills, with experience working with a remote team
  •  You have familiarity with Agile project management workflows including Scrum
  •  You are comfortable with and/or intrigued by Pair or Group Programming
  •  You have empathy for our target customer: Internal WP Engine scrum teams

Helpful experience
  •  You have performed identity system administration with tools like Okta, Ping Identity, Active Directory, ForgeRock, etc.
  •  You show a proven understanding of IAM standards, protocols, and technologies: OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, Federation, SSO, and Multi-factor authentication
  •  You know how to secure customer APIs and the systems that support API security such as API gateways and microservices
  •  Okta Developer Certification is a bonus

Base Salary Range
$96,000.00 - $144,000.00
We believe that compensation should be reflective of the impact you have within the organization relative to the market value of your role. The estimated base salary range for this position is as listed above. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Our salary ranges are determined by job role and responsibilities and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for salaries for the position nationwide. The actual base pay will vary based on various factors including job-related skills and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
