Software Engineering Manager
We are looking for a Manager of Software Engineering who brings innovation and energy to our yard management and finished vehicles logistics solutions development.   If you are passionate about innovation, software development, and working with amazing people, then Kaleris is the right organization for you.
Our engineering team practices agile software development.  Our technologies include Javascript, React.js, jQuery, Ruby on Rails, Linux, PostgreSQL, GPS and location awareness, Digital Mapping, Apple Mac development workstations, cloud computing, Redis/Resque, JSON and other queueing systems to integrate our applications with customer systems.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Be a combination of a highly-technical hands-on software engineer and an effective people leader
  • Recruit, inspire and develop team members
  • Mentor the team to expand their capabilities and grow within the organization
  • Foster a strong engineering craftsmanship culture, create a work environment that promotes experimentation and innovation
  • Lead by example and make every team member accountable and aligned to the company purpose and the need of the customers
  • Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
  • Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts
  • Ensure design and code reviews, analysis of code components and code coverage of Unit test cases
  • Drive end-to-end quality with effective automation and unit level, component level and system level testing
  • Partner with product team to balance between customer needs and maintaining a product for many customers
Requirements / Experience Needed
  • Clear evidence of excellence in prior work
  • Passion for technology and building great teams
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in hands-on development of mission critical products
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams of 5+
  • Highly proficient in Ruby on Rails and solid understanding of full stack development
  • Experience working in a high-volume or critical production service environment
  • Experience with systems working with RFID and GPS technology a plus
  • Strong communication and written skills, ability to communicate and perform during high stress situations
  • Outstanding track record in enterprise-level applications development in an agile development environment
  • BE / B.Tech – IT/CSE/ECE from top universities in India
  • Knowledge of or experience with highly-available supply chain, logistics or industrial systems a plus
