THE ROLE
Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP) is a machine learning/AI powered customer acquisition and CRM multi-tenant platform. The backend developer will work on server-side APIs and services that enable a highly distributed event pipeline and a stack that gets tens of thousands of messages per second.
Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing the team assignments and timelines for the projects being executed by their team. They should understand agile software development and be experienced with iterative software development. A strong grasp of high-throughput data pipelines and expertise in technologies like large-scale processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Hive, Mapreduce), Kafka, Data Warehousing, Distributed NoSQL Datastores, Web frameworks, REST API and related technologies is required. They should be able to make decisions independently for their team and be able to alter execution plans and make decisions within constraints for the benefit of achieving the overall business goal set out for the team.
Daily activities could include:
  • Be responsible for the team’s productive and collective impact. They would work towards setting clear expectations for each member of their team.
  • Be involved in recruiting members of their team and should be able to work with HR and/or recruitment partners to formalize job requirements for the positions open within their team.
  • Be partnering with product and business teams to manage scope, deliverables and influence the product roadmap.
  • Regularly meet with their team members as part of 1:1 focused discussion about the team member’s performance, career aspirations and growth
  • Provide technical leadership across all engineering and development areas.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data optimization processes, overseeing data management, governance, security, and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to plan and forecast the infrastructure spending.
Requirements:
  • We are looking for exceptional talent with superior academic credentials and a solid foundation in computer sciences and distributed systems design and development.
  • The candidate will have had at least 4 years of experience developing scalable, robust software platforms using Java/Ruby/Python or an equivalent language.
  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science (or a related field) from a university where the primary language of instruction is English is strongly desired.
  • Strong communication skills in a large-distributed development team environment are essential.
Qualification
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • 4 - 8 years of working experience with Python, Ruby and/or J2EE technology or equivalent OO paradigm
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Kafka, Elastic Search, NoSQL databases such as Aerospike, Thrift, CI, and AWS.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Experience working on data/ETL pipeline.
  • Strong object-oriented programming and design skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks.

SALARY RANGE 
The compensation range for this role is $150,000.00 - $225,000.00, depending on location and experience.
