Position Overview
As a Software Engineer at OptionMetrics, you will play a vital role in developing applications that access large financial data sets. You will work closely with our Operations and Product teams to brainstorm and implement next-generation data and analytic information products. Our 100% cloud-based infrastructure allows you to leverage the latest technologies and tools without the burden of technical debt.
Responsibilities
· Develop applications using a variety of programming languages including Ruby On Rails, Python, and Java
· Work with cloud-based technologies to build and maintain applications.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement high-quality software solutions.
· Troubleshoot and resolve production support issues.
· Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
· Create and maintain documentation for code, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
· 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or Java,
· Proven experience with Ruby on Rails development, including associated libraries and frameworks.
· Proven experience with Heroku environments
- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and database systems (SQL, PostgreSQL).
· Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.
· Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.

Salary range: $55 - $70 per-hour-wage
Pay ranges at OptionMetrics are established based on an analysis of salaries for positions with a similar level of accountability and impact in the relevant labor market. Salary levels are expected to change to reflect an employee’s job performance (results and impact) over time. Salaries at the time of hire are typically offered in the lower to middle of the above-referenced range in order to provide the opportunity to reflect performance-based increases over time. In addition to base salaries, employees at OptionMetrics are eligible for a comprehensive package of benefits.
